Many Londoners, including me, find the fact that there are plain-clothed armed police on the tube scarier than the fact that there are suicide bombers on the tube.
There is a nervous optimism that the police had a good reason to shoot a man five times, after they had restrained him. They must have had a good reason, mustn't they?

All kinds of horrible things have happened in London today. Thankfully, I was at home this morning, so I'm fine, and I've heard from most of my friends. I'm priveleged to have 3 news channels, and the web, and a dozen friends on instant messenger and email feeding me with information.
Wikinews looks like a pretty good central point for people aggregating what they're getting from TV, Radio, and each other. I'll be watching it all day, I expect.
