Please can I twin my del.icio.us account with my last.fm account and keep a record of the things I stream with the del.icio.us mp3 widget?

Whilst you're implementing that for me, can you do the same thing for myspace bands, purevolume bands and so on?

Could this be done with a Greasemonkey script or a Firefox extension?

Another Shameless Plug for DARTZ!

My brother's band DARTZ! have been mentioned here before, but I'm quite excited about them again because this weekend they're playing in London for the first time. Your presence is requested at the Camden Barfly on Saturday 8th October for a Best of In the City gig, comprising a line up selected from last weekend's music industry event in Manchester.

If you haven't heard them you should have a listen on their myspace or purevolume pages. If you like what you hear, you could do worse than buying their song Once! Twice! Again! from iTunes, and if you're really keen they have an EP out on Fake Dreams records soon.

DARTZ! have also been recently profiled in the Northeast's local paper, The Evening Gazette, and maintain a continuous buzz on BBC Tees. Reviews of their Manchester shows can be found here and here if you'd like to know what to expect.

Release Early, Release Often

My brother's band, DARTZ!, have recorded another new song, "Once Twice Again", and an early mix of it is available on their myspace page.

This is how things should be done.

DARTZ! with a Z

DARTS! have become DARTZ! to avoid confusion with Darts. There are two new songs for your listening pleasure too.

Two Things

I've dabbled with snippets of my personal life here, but I'm still not really sure about it.

That said, two observations:

I even have a new phone for the first time in two years, and if beer and packing don't get the better of me I'm hoping to get a moblog style thing going. I hope I can change my tariff to one where emailing photos makes sense.

See you on the other side.

Teesside music…

Around 5-10 years ago, there was something of a fledgling music scene in Teesside, England. There were several reasonable venues, and quite a few bands writing good songs and producing exciting performances. There weren't many bands who could have held it together at a national level though.

I'm glad to say that recently the scene up there has really matured, with several bands already hitting the road and a couple of high profile signings. It's partly due to increased attention and new sources of inspiration like The Futureheads from nearby Sunderland and Maximo Park from Newcastle, I'm sure, but Teesside is its own place with its own strong identity and the bands there reflect that background.

The latest addition to the roster of bands that could compete nationally is Just About Done. They're also noteworthy as another example of a band using myspace to get a demo out to their friends as soon as they get home from the studio. I'm looking forward to the proper release on Concrete Atlas records soon.

Disclosure: my brother runs Concrete Atlas. I still like the new Just About Done song though.

Information spaces meet physical spaces in Searchscapes Manhattan. A quick browse through the inspiration behind the project is well worth the effort, but I'm surprised the video for Alex Gopher's The Child isn't there.

If anyone has a copy of the Vodaphone advert done in the same style, I'd be interested in getting hold of it.

Also: Behind you! Bees! Or a pantomime dame! is back. Hooray for that.

Unclassifiable

Every song on John Peel's FabricLive 07 compilation has the genre Unclassifiable in iTunes.

Tigermoth

My friends Tigermoth are playing this Tuesday at Club Fandango at the Dublin Castle, Camden, London. They're ramping up to their first single launch, and you can hear samples of their music on their myspace page.

Also playing are Amusement Parks on Fire, who I hear very good things about. If that sounds like your kind of thing, perhaps I'll see you there?

I must confess that one reason I like to see Tigermoth is that they bring out the best of my inner rock photographer. Here's a selection of Tigermoth images from my Flickr page to whet your appetites:

DARTS! is good

My brother's latest band - DARTS! - have just recorded a demo. You can have a listen to the first cut of it over at myspace.com/darts.

Influences, apparently, include Minus The Bear, Devo, The Police, The Futureheads, Dismemberment Plan, Q and Not U and Talking Heads. It's funky, punky, disco-tinged, jazzy, spazzy, indie rock. With Teesside accents. You might like it.
